Fat Burning Foods

Are there any foods that burn body fat? If yes, how is it possible? It should be possible to lose weight by simply eating such foods. What are these foods?

The fat burning foods are foods that burn more calories than the calorie content of the foods itself. There are certain foods which actually burn more fat than the calorie content of the food itself. These fat burning foods or so called negative calorie foods are natural plant foods.

Fruits rich in vitamin C like limes, lemons, oranges, grapefruit and tangerines have fat burning properties. Some of the other fat burning foods are asparagus, beet root, broccoli, cabbage, carrot, apple, blueberries, and watermelon. It you eat these fat burning foods and do some exercise, it will boost your metabolism and burn calories at a faster rate for several hours even after exercise.

A recent research reports that calcium in dairy products can boost weight loss by increasing fat breakdown in fat cells. If you compare a dairy-rich versus a dairy-poor diet you can nearly double the rate of weight and fat loss with the same level of calorie restriction.

Not eating enough will slow your metabolism and deteriorating your health. Note that in order to lose weight you have to burn more calories than you consume. This can be done by eating negative calorie foods. This will help your body burning up the excessive stored fat.

Action Guided Spokane Weight Loss For Guaranteed Results

Have you gotten going on your quest for a better body and a better life? Have you made any significant amount progress toward your goal?

Or are you going to "wait until next Monday" to start your fitness plan.

There's a story about a frog. Now this frog wasn't particularly smart. On one particular day this frog slipped into that barrel only half full of liquid. He was very close to drowning, and the other frogs were on top of the barrel and taunting him while he was trying to swim.

But this frog was so dumb he thought they were cheering him on, so he paddled faster and faster and faster until he churned the cream into butter, and then he was able to hop back out of the barrel. It's a great story I know!

What does this have to do with weight loss?

Well, maybe your not "ready" to lose weight, you don't know what to do, you don't want to make a fool of yourself, you don't want to....(or any other excuse out there.

No matter what your current fitness level or situation - it doesn't matter!! Just get going.

I certainly know this, if you don't get started, you won't finish. As the saying goes, if you keep doing what you've always done you'll only get what you've already got.

Even if you don't know what to do, the first step is to find out what to do to maximize your weight loss. Maybe that first step is to find a quality personal trainer or fitness coach that can help you achieve your fitness goals in a tenth the time as on your own.

Don't be like a scorpion I read about in South America. In its aggressiveness on himself he will sting itself and die of its own poison.

In other words don't ever quit your quest for fitness. Don't ever quit!! (I said that again for emphasis.)

A torpedo/missile does not "think out" all its errors in advance, and attempt to correct them in advance. It has to get going first - moving toward it's enemy target, correcting errors as it gets closer toward its goal.

That's just like with weight loss. You may not start with the "perfect" plan or that just right regimen. Just get going and adjust as you learn more and find out what works for you.

We need to focus on any and even the smallest improvement toward overall fitness. Not the failures or what it has taken to get those improvements.

Just keep going toward that dream or goal you believe in, if you believe it that's all that counts, you don't need to convince anyone else of your goal for it to be your goal of weight loss and for it to become a reality.

Natural Fast Weight Loss

Obesity is quickly becoming an epidemic with 65% of Americans being overweight. Men and women alike have tried to various diets with some degree of success, only to gain it all back or more. With the increase of our body fat is the increase in health risk from diabetes, high cholesterol, to heart disease.

With obesity on the rise people are taken notice, along with health gurus with new diets or pharmaceutical companies with a new pill to aid in weight loss. Let's not forget all the infomercials with the latest exercise equipment either. None of these are needed. You just need 3 things for natural fast weight loss: change in the food you eat, cardio and exercise.

First of all, this isn't a diet. It is a lifestyle change. As said before, most diets tend to fail because, once you are off of the diet, you think you can go back to how you lived and everything will be ok. Wrong. Unless you change things in your life and maintain it, it will all creep back and the diet was nothing but a waste of time.

So getting started the best thing to do is keep a diary of you daily intake of food. By doing so, you will see everything you eat and how it all adds up. Second, when you shop for food, try to stick to the outside of the grocery. All the processed food is usually contained in the middle of the grocery and along the outside, you'll usually find fruits, vegetables and breads. Of course, you may have to venture in for spices and other things of the like. If you do buy any, be careful of the processed foods you buy. As they are processed, they tend to lose nutritional value.

When keeping a diary, keep track mainly of the calories. It doesn't matter how it is added up, 3500 calories equals one pound added to the body. The more you put in the more you need to burn off. Sure to eat less helps, but eventually the body will take over thinking it is being starved and stores more of your intake as fat to preserve itself. The correct way to do it is to slowly decrease your intake and find ways to burn extra calories throughout the day.

This is where cardio comes in. Yes, most people hate to do it but it is necessary to burn extra calories to lose the excess weight. There are many options here you can choose. Running, bike ride, aerobics or a treadmill just to name a few. If you can find something you like then cardio will be easier for you, but you will need to do something if you want to lose the excess weight.

Lastly is exercise, and no cardio is not exercise. Here you must be careful depending on how you wanna look when you wanna loose the weight. Most men wouldn't mind wanting to add a little more muscle to their frame, but not most women. Adding muscle isn't necessarily a bad thing. Yes, muscle weighs more than fat, but burns more fat by increasing the bodies metabolism rate. For those who don't mind some added muscle, you could always try some kind of weight training program. For those just looking to tone up their body you can go with weights but keep the weight low and your reps high. Or you can try various band or cable exercises.

When keeping weight loss in mind, it isn't always the scale that is your judge. The mirror is a better tale of your weight loss. Losing the weight is one thing but looking good when it is gone is another.

Lose Weight With a Green Tea Weight Loss Supplement

Supplements containing green tea extracts are a completely natural way of reducing weight with very little risk of any side effects. There are many benefits associated with green tea. The Chinese have known about its medicinal properties since ancient times, however the western world is only just opening up to the benefits of taking green tea.

Weight loss pills or diet pills are all the rage at the moment. Everybody wants to look the best they possibly can and in order to do this everybody wants to be thin! Many weight loss pills contain green tea extracts. Green tea is a natural source of antioxidants. Green tea is useful in reducing cholesterol, and it also helps to reduce the blood sugar level after a meal. It does also help to reduce weight.

Although green tea does help in weight loss, you do however need to be very patient in order to observe the results. Keep in mind that weight loss does not occur overnight, even when you are using nutritional supplements. Since green tea does not have any harmful side effects associated with it, you might want to try out some green tea weight loss supplements. You can search for fat burning pills that contain up to 70-80% green tea extracts.

Fat burning pills including green tea weight loss supplements increase the metabolic activity of your body cells. This consequently increases the amount of fuel that your body consumes. The body's fuel is calories, the higher the metabolism, the faster these are burned. Green tea extracts are also used to treat poor digestion and constipation, and also helps to fight against the free radicals in the body, the negative by-products created by normal bodily processes. Green tea supplements are rich in EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate) which is not only a mouthful, it's an antioxidant and protects the body against any possible digestive problems. It is also helpful in cancer prevention and lowering cholesterol levels.

Green tea supplements are available in the form of tablets or pills. The advantage of green tea supplement over other fat burning pills is that it does not increase the heart rate of consumers. Many weight loss pills have the side effect of causing the patients heart rate to rise, causing a problem for certain groups of people with heart conditions. People belonging to any age group can use green tea to treat any medical complaints without any concern about its side effects.

Small Changes Build to Weight Loss

Does this sound familiar....you promise yourself that the next morning you'll totally revamp your food choices, exercise daily, and be successful with your diet plan? Has it worked long-term? If not, maybe you tried to do too much too quickly. It can be overwhelming to make big changes and expect them to stick. Why not try something different? Make small changes to your food choices and exercise. Small changes build to big weight loss success.

In working with my clients, a successful strategy in losing weight and keeping it off is to make one small change at a time. Do you reach the top of a staircase by a giant leap? No, you rise to the top one step at a time. The same for weight loss is to make small changes and allow them to build success one after the other. Before you know it, those changes create a momentum of success that move you forward to your weight loss goals.

1. Eat slowly and calmly. Enjoy the tastes and textures. Put your fork or spoon down between every bite. Intersperse your eating with enjoying the company of others joining you for the meal. Your brain has a delay to your stomach by about 20 minutes when it comes to the feeling of fullness and satisfaction. If you eat slowly enough, your brain will catch up to tell you that you are no longer in need of food.

2. Eat only when you're hungry. Sounds easy but can be challenging to differentiate between your head hunger and hear your stomach truly growling. It is amazing how often we eat out of boredom, nervousness, habit, hobby, recreational sport, or frustration. Unfortunately for some of us that struggle with weight and food issues, we have actually forgotten what physical hunger and the cues feel like. Next time, wait until your stomach is growling before you reach for food. If you're craving a specific food, it's probably a craving, not hunger. It's probably your head that's hungry rather than your stomach. If you'd eat anything you could get your hands on, chances are you're truly physically hungry.

3. Out of sight, out of mind. The other day I found a surprise lurking in my refrigerator. It was a holiday treat from Thanksgiving that got pushed behind other items in the refrigerator. I'd forgotten all about this little treat put in the refrigerator because I didn't see it. Fast forward to how it looked today; it was petrified and looked awful. Seeing this Thanksgiving goodie that I'd kept that looked delicious in November to its current appearance was disgusting. It sure put the food choice into perspective. You aren't tempted if you don't see it. Even further, if you don't buy it or bring it home, you aren't tempted either. Keep your trigger foods out of your radar.

4. Empower yourself with the trash. Huh? My husband brought home leftover food from a work function he attended. It was not the best nutritional choice for anyone. Rather than keep it around, I threw it away. It felt so empowering to throw away the unhealthy food item. I chose the health of myself and my family over the temporary enjoyment of eating an undesirable food choice. You and your health are more important than any fleeting food fix

You don't have to undertake all of the changes in your lifestyle all at once. You've done that before. Did it result in long-lasting change? Probably not. Try something different. If you want different results, try it in a different way. Small changes build to big changes. Before you know it, you'll step on the scale and see your goal weight. Small changes can equal big success.

Dining Out - The Low Fat Way

Dining out with friends and family can be a relaxing and satisfying way to connect over a delicious meal. But if you are trying to lose weight or maintain your ideal weight, it's easy to consume half a day's calorie intake with just one restaurant meal. Here are a number of easy ways to enjoy dining out and choose nutritious, low fat foods at the same time:

Avoid buffet style dining. If you must, first fill up on a plate of fresh salad, including raw broccoli, carrots and cauliflower and use a low fat dressing. Eat slowly and allow yourself only one trip for a reasonably sized main dish.
Choose clear, vegetable or tomato-based soups like gazpacho, over creamed soups such as clam chowder.
Avoid sandwiches with high fat-meats such as corned beef, pastrami and sausage.
Order entrees that are steamed, baked, roasted, broiled or poached.
Look for restaurant menus that feature items low in fat, sodium and cholesterol.
Eat steamed rice instead of fried rice.
Dine at restaurants that offer smaller or reduced-size entrees.
Choose fresh fruit, sorbet or angel food cake for a low-fat dessert.
Avoid drinking cola, which served in restaurant sized glasses is about 300 calories. And that doesn't count the refills.

Try taking the focus off of the food when dining out in restaurants. Enjoy the surroundings and the warm and lively conversation of your guests. Eat slowly and savor each bite, and you will continue to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle.

Budgeting For Healthy Weight Loss

Imagine for a moment that you've been given a $1,000 gift certificate to spend as you wish.

Now that I have you excited, think about how you would spend that money. Would you buy a single expensive item or a number of less expensive items?

Would your purchases reflect your "needs," such as items for your home and family, or would you treat yourself to some "wants" that you've had your eye on?

More than likely, you would end up with a mixture of all of the above. This would be a result of some careful planning, price checking and prioritizing so that you are ultimately satisfied with your purchases.

Our financial friends might call this budgeting. Certainly this kind of conduct wouldn't fit under the term "impulse buys."

The budgeting concept can be applied to our daily caloric intake. Each of us has a daily budget of calories required to maintain a healthy body weight and in order to stay within our budget we must carefully balance our "wants" and "needs" through planning, label reading and prioritizing.

Why is it so hard to budget our daily calorie intake?

The greatest challenge is that our caloric bank account has, for lack of a better term, substantial overdraft protection.

Thus, exceeding our daily budget usually goes overlooked until our clothing feels a bit snug or the scale has increased another few pounds. Add to this the availability of calorie expensive foods, huge portion sizes and lack of regular deposits in the form of physical activity -- no wonder many of us are well over our calorie budget.

You can find out your daily caloric budget at HealthyWeights.ca/calc.php

So if it comes down to budgeting calories, why is it so difficult to lose weight or prevent weight gain? The answer is two-fold.

One, the invention of labour-saving devices has reduced our caloric budget to extremely low levels. Think of the amount of physical labour you perform in a day both at work and at home with that of your grandparents when they were your age. Our generation doesn't have to do physically intensive jobs in order to survive, so our budget of calories is much lower. Secondly, we are surrounded by foods that are calorie expensive.

Being stingy with our calories is nearly impossible when eating at restaurants, eating on the run or choosing prepackaged foods. Thus even our best intentions can be thwarted by the temptation of taking the elevator and having a sweet snack with our coffee.

Much like spending money can be increased with opportunity, so can eating of calorie-dense foods. Think of the last time you made an "impulse" buy. Was it during a period of high or low emotional circumstances? Was it in response to something negative that happened in your life, such as a stressful event or argument with a friend or family member?

This concept also applies to eating. For example, during an office meeting you may rarely be tempted by the doughnuts brought in by coworkers, however, if you feel pressure or anxiety because it's your turn to present at the meeting that day, your ability to say no to the temptation may be diminished or distracted.

Determining triggers and chains of events that lead to overeating are an important part of a healthy weight loss program.

So what can you do to bypass these temptations?

First, you have to become aware of what you're eating. Ask yourself before succumbing to that temptation, Am I hungry? Is this going to fulfill my needs?

Does this food fit into my daily nutritional plan? Is this what I want to spend my calories on or is there something better?

It's perfectly fine to determine that a temptation or treat is warranted. If you decide a food or treat fits your budget then savour it and enjoy every bite. Take your time, chew every bite, do whatever it takes to slow down.

Developing a plan to deal with temptations and managing your food and physical activity budget is not something you have to do on your own. Programs that provide support, encouragement and education can make this process much more enjoyable and ultimately more successful.

Decide if you are a solo or social "changer" and develop your plan using any resources you see fit.

Simple Weight Loss Strategies Part 3

Losing weight may seem a difficult task, but implementing simple weight loss strategies can help you to reach your objectives. One strategy which is extremely useful is this: eat frequent, smaller meals. The theory behind this tactic is that you will keep your blood sugar levels stable throughout the day and this will prevent hunger.

Of course, it is important to ensure that you eat healthy food if you snack on chocolate and high fat snacks, this wont be effective. Protein is particularly good when it comes to keeping your blood glucose on an even keel and so good snacks would be a few walnuts with an apple or some cottage cheese or natural yoghurt with goji berries.

An alternative, particularly if you eat a salad or a sandwich at work at lunch time, would be to divide this into two portions and have one at around 11 oclock.

When it comes to main meals, you will need to exercise portion control. A good trick is to use smaller plates for everyone. The rest of the family can have more if they want, but if you all start off with the same amount, you wont feel so deprived just leave the table before they tuck in to a second helping and leave the washing-up for them!

Another strategy which works well with more frequent meals, is cutting out carbohydrates in the evening. If you have had a mid-afternoon snack, you could stick to protein with a large helping of vegetables in the evening. It is best not to eat a heavy meal before going to bed when trying to lose weight anyway.

Simple weight loss strategies can make a big difference to your efforts, enabling you to reach your goals with a lot less stress.

Three Ways to Lose Weight

In today's world, being overweight is becoming more and more common. No one wants to be fat because it isn't healthy and it also doesn't allow people to look their best. Of course the biggest reason to lose weight is to love a happier, healthier, and longer life. But very few people actually are able to come-up with a weight loss plan that works for them. If you're having trouble, here are three ways to lose weight.

1. Exercise More

The first of the three ways to lose weight is an obvious one that everyone knows. But before you groan, here's a little twist on exercising more. Rather than going to the gym or popping an exercise DVD in, there are plenty of little things you can do to increase how much you exercise.

For example, you can park farther away from stores and walk a little farther each time. Instead of taking escalators and elevators, try taking the stairs. And instead of always using the bathroom on the floor you're on, go to another floor to use the bathroom.

Just making small changes like these you'll get more exercise every year.

2. Stop Going Out to Eat

Not only are you tempted to eat fattening foods every time you go out to eat but you're also given huge portions. So if you must go out to eat to a restaurant, only eat half of the portion they give you and then take the rest home.

3. Cut Down on Snacking

The third of the three ways to lose weight, snacking, is one of the biggest problems for people who are trying to lose weight. And the biggest reason for this is because people don't realize how much they're eating when they snack. Too often they'll just grab a bag of chips and start eating. And then they eat too many chips without even realizing it.

If you do snack pour a reasonable portion into a bowl and then just eat that much. But it's better if you just nip the problem in the bud and not even bring snacks into your house. That way you won't be tempted to eat them.

But if you live in a house where you must have snacks then make sure you give yourself portions. And then you should also try to take one day a week and not allow yourself to snack in between meals at all on that day. Eventually you can try for two days a week and then perhaps three.

Three ways to lose weight are to exercise more, stop going out to eat, and cut down on snacking. If you do these three things you will begin to lose weight.

Weight Loss After Pregnancy - 7 Common Sense Tips for New Moms

Want to ditch those Mommy jeans? You can! Having a baby may change your body, but it doesnt have to make it bigger! After two pregnancies of my own that resulted in a 40 and a 60 pound weight gain, Ive learned some simple tricks to losing that baby fat.

Now, Im going to share them with you:

Get Rid of All the Junk Food

Sad, but true, the simple fact is, its impossible to lose weight (and keep it off) if youre allowing yourself to gorge on cookies, bagels and soda pop all day. Stick to low-calorie snack alternatives like fresh fruit, chopped veggies and light dips, a baked potato - its more filling and nutritious, not to mention less fattening than chips, rice cakes, popcorn, low-salt pretzels, or low-fat or sugar free puddings and ice cream bars. Substitute flavored waters, teas, vegetable or low-sugar fruit juices for high calorie drinks.

Watch The Time of Day That You Eat

We all know that we shouldnt eat after 7 pm, but have you tried eating your largest meal during the day when your body is burning calories more efficiently? Try eating a big breakfast, mid-day snack and an early dinner, followed by a light nutritious snack in the early evening.

Indulge After Exercising

After my daughter was born I decided to take an exercise class in the evenings twice a week to help shed my extra weight. It was there that I learned an important lesson: your body burns calories much faster for an hour or so after strenuous exercise than at any other time of the day. So, if you just have to have that brownie, or dip of ice cream, do it right after exercising, when your metabolism is in high gear.

Walk Every Day

Walking at a brisk pace for just a half an hour every day can be a big boost to your metabolism, your energy levels and your weight loss. Babies love being in the fresh air, and many will fall right to sleep from the soothing jostling of the stroller. So put on your walking shoes, bundle up baby and hit the streets every day.

Eat A Well-Balanced Diet

While its true that getting rid of all the junk food in your house is a great start to losing weight, eating a well-balanced diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats and low-fat snacks can all help you burn calories more efficiently.

Have Your Babies Before You Turn 26

Ok, so you may not have much control over this one, but remember, the average womans metabolism decreases by one-half percent every year after the age of 26, making it more and more difficult to lose unwanted weight every year! So, while having babies later in life may seem like a good idea for your career and lifestyle, it may not be so great for your waistline.

Breastfeed as Long as You Can

While you do need to consume more calories when you breastfeed, most nursing moms agree that if they eat a well-balanced and nutritious diet, breastfeeding helps them lose more weight at a faster rate then their bottle feeding friends. Why? The simple fact is, it takes a lot of energy to make enough milk for a baby to eat in a day. Breastfeeding helps increase your metabolism and use more calories. Miracle One-Bite Weight Loss Trick

Remember the old "betcha can't eat just one" potato chip commercial? The idea was that if you gave in and ate one potato chip, before you knew it, the whole bag would be gone.

So dieters have this adage burned into their memories, thinking they can't let any "forbidden fruit" even touch their lips, lest they fall off their diet and descend into an engorgement abyss.

But are dieters like alcoholics where just one taste of alcohol leads to intoxication?

Some experts will tell you to just say NO to food temptations. This may work for some, but not everyone has the same psychological makeup and each individual responds to different motivations.

Oddly enough, depriving yourself of that treat can build it into a bigger monster than it needs to be.

The constant fear of chocolate cake or fettuccine becomes all consuming.

If you are the type of person who falls off the diet wagon, becomes depressed, then dumps the weight loss program totally, perhaps you need to indulge yourself in a small way.

Better to take one small bite, get that needed flavor, then let the urge pass.

Of course, you don't want to worship the one bite and plan your day for it, either. Moderation is the key.

First, decide what nondiet food you are yearning for. Is it sweet? Salty? Fat-laden?

Second, plan how often you need to "quench" the craving. Every day? Once a week? Whatever keeps you on track for the long term is the answer here.

Now, get a small piece of whatever you have been yearning for. Buy a candy bar, take one small section of it, about one inch square, and give the rest to a friend.

Buy a snack size bag a potato chips and share it with a hungry child.

Or, go out for lunch with a friend who is not dieting. Arrange in advance for them to order that food you are dreaming about. When your meals arrive, you take one small portion from them, satisfy the craving, then happily crunch down that salad.

Consume your food slowly, chewing thoroughly, and savoring the taste.

When it is gone, think back on how much you enjoyed the experience. Feel good about the fact that you didn't need an entire cake to satisfy you, just a tiny portion. Think about how good your stomach feels when it is not stuffed with food. Congratulate yourself for sticking with your weight loss plan.

Gastric Bypass Causes Hair Loss: Can It Be Avoided?

Surprisingly, hair loss is one of the reasons female pre-operative patients sit on the fence before deciding to have gastric bypass surgery. Obese people, particularly obese women, often have lush gorgeous hair. Of course they do its well fed and nourished! How many of us have been described as the woman with beautiful hair and a pretty face? What person in their right mind would give up one of their beautiful features?

Hair loss usually occurs in the fourth of fifth month following weight loss surgery. During the phase of rapid weight loss, caloric intake is marginal. This puts the body in a state of panic called starvation. Think about the pictures of prisoners of war. Most victims of this atrocity are without hair because they are literally starving to death. A healthy body normally sheds ten percent of hair follicles at any given time. When a body is starving roughly thirty to forty percent of hair follicles are sacrificed as the body channels nutrition to more vital areas. During this phase hair loss is dramatic, often patients find clumps of hair on the shower floor. Remaining hair becomes drab and lifeless.

I knew hair loss was a potential result of weight loss surgery, but because Im a cup-half-full person, I didnt believe that hair loss would happen to me! That just happens to other people, I told myself! Imagine my surprise when my blonde locks were littering the bathroom floor like hair saloon. I shed some tears over that.

The hair loss is a transient effect of your gastric bypass surgery and will be resolved when nutrition and weight stabilize. When my hair began falling out, my husband, who has been a proponent of vitamin supplements all his life, found a vitamin specifically formulated for building strong healthy hair. The vitamin I take for healthy hair and nails is Silica Complex by Puritans Pride. It contains calcium, magnesium, zinc, boron, betaine and horsetail extract. Consumption of this supplement almost immediately retarded my hair loss and renewed my dull lifeless hair. I will continue taking this supplement throughout my life. Three years after surgery my hair is long, full and lustrous one would never know I had suffered significant hair loss. In hindsight, I would certainly begin taking this supplement prior to my surgery. In the very least I would begin taking it soon after surgery before the signs of hair loss were apparent.

Day 4 - Follow My Weight Loss Program - Holiday Season Fast Approaching

Ok, so there are four days left until Christmas, however less than 24 hours left until all of the family gathering, foods and fun start. Our family will be getting together starting on Saturday and going all the way through next week. This means I have to get myself disciplined, and do so in a hurry.

I can not begin to tell you, if you do not experience it yourself, just how much and how many different foods there will be sitting in front of me over the next several days. You name it. Hams, turkeys, potatoes, stuffing, yams, I better stop, it is early morning and I haven't had breakfast just yet and all this talk about food...well you know.

Come to think of it I haven't even thought about the cakes, cookies, pies...yikes, I think I just did. So as you can see, the pressure will be intense over the course of this holiday season, but that's ok. I didn't expect losing 50 pounds to be easy. In fact I was and am expecting it to be hard. I call it punishment for packing it on in the first place.

With that said I see no reason why, even though it will be hard, that it can't be fun. Therefore over the next few days I am going to see if I can get a hold of different recipes for healthy food. If you have any good websites or ideas, please submit a comment, I would appreciate it. I enjoy cooking. Cooking is a great way to be creative with something, or feel a sense of completion when you make someone Else's recipe and it comes out great.

Also when it comes to the exercise portion of the program, I want to make that as fun as well. Besides the normal lifting weights, running/walking etc., maybe I will get myself involved some local sports club or something along those lines. A long time ago, in a galaxy far...oh wait that is a different story. Seriously, a long time ago I use to play hockey, both ice and street as well as do a lot of skiing. I will have to look into getting back into doing maybe that. It is enjoyable, definitely great sources of exercise, and something I would look forward to. I mean, lets face it, I really don't look forward to getting up at 5:00am to walk the dog. I love the dog, but does he really need to go out, that early in the morning? Doesn't he know how cold it is outside?

In any event, although losing 50 pounds will not be easy, it should not be boring either.

Regards, Mike P.

Herbal Weight Loss

Demand for weight loss information, tips, help, products, pills, and more is ever increasing - more people are getting more and more conscious about the way they look - which includes their physical well-being. People want to look lean, fit and not forgetting sexy.

Along with the demands comes the answers - there are also lots of weight loss programs, pills, exercise programs, machines, dietary supplements, and even dietary "soaps" available out there in the market that promises to allow you to shed a certain amount of weight in a short span of time.

There's one more option available on the market which hardly people are talking about is - herbal weight loss solution.

Herbal weight loss solution is great for people who are looking to lose weight the natural way. But one thing you have to take note is that herbal solutions do not allow you to lose weight overnight but, rather, it will be a gradual process.

Here are some herbal weight loss solutions you may want to consider:

1. Herbal Weight Loss Products

There are lots of herbal weight loss products available on the market now - simply do a search on "Herbal Weight Loss Products" in the Google search engines and you'll find many websites selling these herbal weight loss products.

A word of caution though - before you whip out your credit card to purchase any of these herbal products, do check the ingredients and chemicals used properly as some of these herbal weight loss products contain ingredients and chemicals which are harmful to your body, and here are some of them:

a. Senna - Senna is a herbal laxative. It is the main ingredient in weight loss teas, and it works by stimulating your body's colon. The side-effect of this is dehydration. Senna can also lead to colon problems and can become addictive as some people, without taking Senna, will experience bowel movement problems.

b. Chromium Picolinate - This is a synthetic compound found in weight loss products. Chromium is a nutrient that helps to regulate your blood-sugar level. Overdosage of Chromium may lead to the damage of chromosomes in your body. It can also lead to dehydration.

c. St. John's Wort - If weight loss products containing St. John's Wort is not used correctly, it may lead to eye and skin sensitivity, cause mild gastrointestinal distress, fatigue, as well as itching.

2. Organic Food

More and more people are starting to consume organic food, as they believe that by doing so, it will keep their body healthier, and also organic food is known to be "kinder" to your weight compared to chemically-processed food products.

3. Green Tea

Studies have shown that green tea helps to burn extra calories, and people who drank green tea were found to lose 2 to 3 times more weight than those who did not. Therefore, green tea is a good option for those who want to lose weight.

4. Caffeine

Coffee provides an energy boost in your body to help increase the rate at which your body burns fats.

5. Immortality Herb

This herb, which is also scientifically known as "Gymnostemna Pentaphyllum", is know to have the following benefits.

a. Increases your body's healthy blood flow.

b. Reduces artery blocks.

c. Aids healthy blood pressure.

d. Increase the rate of fat burning in your body.

5. Apple Cider Vinegar

Some of the weight loss pills and food supplements contain Apple Cider Vinegar as its main ingredient. Here's some of its benefits:

a. Helps in weight loss.

b. Improves your body's cholesterol level.

c. Improves your body's blood pressure.

d. Helps prevent Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Guaranteed Super Fast Weight Loss - Here's the Secret

There's only one way I know for absolutely guaranteed super fast weight loss!

And here's the secret...!

Go on a 28 day "water only" or "vegetable juice only" fast!

So I absolutely do not recommend this for you. It's too dangerous... especially so if your health is already compromised with obesity and all its concurrent health issues. I don't want the responsibility and I don't imagine that even your Doctor would take on the responsibility of recommending this for you.

There is an easy, safe way to lose weight quickly which I'll share with you in a moment.

But I'm reminded of a story: Years ago in Australia I did meet a young 25 year old couple just after they had returned from a month long vacation in isolation in the far north of Queensland on the Great Barrier Reef - and they had fasted, water only, for a month. I have to say they were absolutely glowing with health. Their eyes sparkled and their skin was glowing and blemish free.

They told me that after 20 days they had gone into the nearest town and stood gazing with desire at the cakes in a store window. They managed to get out of town without breaking their fast... but it was touch and go.

I was very taken with how healthy they looked and thought how much I would like to look like that. But I could never last past 24 hours... so much for the fasting idea... besides being dangerous it's just way too difficult to go the distance. But there is an easy way to lose weight... and quickly. And you don't need to battle with hunger while you're at it.

The trick is to get control of that carbohydrate craving so we're not continually driven to grab those forbidden high GI snacks that have defeated us in the past and caused us to fall off the weight loss program.

Kill the carb craving and you've got a shot at some serious long term weight loss.

Let me show you how to kill the carb craving without ever having to feel any hunger. If you do feel hungry... well you can just eat some more! I can show you how to get this started in just 5 days! You'll lose 5 pounds in 5 days or 10 pounds in 10 days and you won't be hungry... it will be easy! I have recently written a book entitled "Lose Weight - Never Go Hungry" which lays out a plan for overcoming Carbohydrate addiction and losing weight.

A Warning For Those Looking For Ways To Lose Weight Fast

Often people that are looking to for ways to lose weight fast get it into their heads that starving themselves is the way to go about it. The truth however is the complete opposite, in fact most diets fail because they are based around a massive reduction in calorie in take.

Our body is a very clever thing and this is why most of these diets fail. When we don't take on enough calories our body makes the metabolism work at a far slower rate to save energy. Also instead of burning fat, which is what we want, your body will save the fat and instead burn your lean muscle.

This is why quick weight loss diets in general only work for a very short period and then the weight loss slows to a crawl. This leads to a loss in motivation which in turns leads to the diet failing.

The problem doesn't end there though as even though you will begin eating properly again your metabolism will remain working at a far lower weight. This means you will end up weighing more than when you originally started, trust me it has happened to me enough times.

Reducing your calorie in take too much will ultimately result in just this so the choice of diet plan you follow is of massive importance. Fast weight loss is possible but of the dozens of programs that claim to offer such results I guarantee that the vast majority only have short term results, certainly most of the ones I've tried personally or looked into have.

Dieting is one of the most frustrating things you can ever attempt during your lifetime but if you achieve success the results are more than worth the hassle. There are ways to lose weight fast but only a select few will have continuous long lasting results.

How to Lose Body Fat

How to lose body fat seems to be a question that many people make in their lifetime. The older you get, the easier it is to gain fat. It seems no one can avoid gaining weight when they get older. The metabolism changes and/or they become less active. They stop growing taller and start growing wider. Although, an answer exists.

However, it is actually a good thing to ask the question "how to lose body fat?" You see that if you don't ask that question, then you're not realizing that there could be a problem when they're actually might be one. The vast majority of us gain fat gradually over our lifetime. It's always helpful to the monitor it somewhat closely.

Losing body fat really doesn't have to be hard. Actually, most people already know how to lose it. You simply need to eat right and exercise. However, too many times people look at one specific area of their body and only exercise that part. This might help to build up those particular muscles but generally won't reduce as much fat as one would like.

The trick to losing fat is to make sure that some of your exercise three or four days a week includes aerobic activity. It definitely is possible to build muscle from lifting weights and still carry a fair amount of fat. True, muscle mass does help to reduce fat because it requires more energy to make it work.

However, if the food and fluids that you eat and drink amount to giving you more energy than what you expend daily, your body will most likely store some of that excess energy in fat. Every day your body uses energy to function whether it is simply moving from one place to another, taking a shower, brushing your hair, walking out to the car, or any one of the other many things you do daily.

Most people don't really continually watch what they eat every day. Therefore, since these people don't have heavy laboring jobs or activities, they will likely gain weight. So therefore, exercise should be one of those activities that you do daily or even better at three or four times a week. You don't want to do it just to reduce fat but also to keep your body healthy. For example, your heart loves aerobic activity.

So what you need to do is a few things in order to implement the answer to the question of "how to lose body fat?" Write down all the foods (and drinks) that you consume daily in a log. This will help to keep track of the energy that you consume. Analyzing this food and drink to understand how much energy you are consuming will help to know how much exercise and activity you need to implement.

Once you know your caloric intake, you'll then have to reduce some of the food that you eat. Use a table that shows the caloric value that your foods have. Most people interested in losing fat will probably reduce their diet by about 500 cal. You will have to find out what is best for you. Then you need to grab another table to understand how much energy you need to expend weekly. I say weekly because when your exercise, you'll need to only exercise three or four times a week and not necessarily daily. Your muscles need to repair themselves. Therefore, look at a weeks worth to make it easier. However, you'll then have to break it down into each days worth.

Now, with this information you should have a good idea as to how much of an energy deficit you'll need to lose fat. As long as you have an energy deficit, you will gradually lose body fat. When you look at it, the process is rather simple.

One of the main problems people run into is being consistent. Consistency and being persistent will be the key to reaching your goal. Small steps are best. Losing weight fast could throw your body into a defensive mode so a few pounds a week will be good enough.

The answer to the question "how to lose body fat" really is not hard to understand. Staying motivated to continue the whole process likely will be the hardest. However, as long as you use more energy than you take in, you will be well on your way. Various important considerations need to be addressed in this process including eating the right foods, drinking plenty of water, consuming enough protein, and consulting with a doctor given your particular circumstances. However, with this information and a little motivation, your goal is not far from your reach.

Weight Loss - What's Eating You?

Are you an emotional overeater?

One of the most common reasons people seek food is emotional hunger. It's not that their stomach is empty; in fact a lot of overweight people haven't felt physical hunger in years! Many people overeat preemptively to stave off the anxiety they have about the mere possibilty of experiencing hunger. Others eat to soothe themselves, or out of boredom.

Stuffing your feelings with food is a way of avoiding actually feeling those difficult emotions such as fear, anger, guilt or sadness. To make matters worse, overeating often leads to feelings of guilt, shame and self-loathing - which just adds to the level of stress. (If you have serious difficulty facing unresolved emotional pain, I suggest you seek professional counseling.)

Food is a poor substitute for love.

It's enormously helpful to learn how to recognize your own emotional triggers to overeat. Before you eat something, ask yourself, "Is anything currently upsetting me? What is it I really want? Is it food or something else?" Once you understand what you're really hungry for, you can deal with feelings of emptiness by beginning to fill your life with meaningful activities and relationships instead of your mouth with food. How do you do this?

Step 1: Identify and acknowledge your emotions.

The next time you get the urge to raid the fridge or drive-thru, take a moment to ask yourself, "What are some of the emotions I may be stuffing by overeating?" Write them down and acknowledge them. Describe as many as you can identify and just be with them for a minute or two. It helps to breathe.

Step 2: Experience your emotions.

If it's too scary to experience the emotion, that's okay. Just identifying and labeling your emotions is a great start. However, if it feels safe to do so, and you are in a place where it is appropriate, allow your emotions to gently surface and experiment with actually feeling them. Be sure to breathe.

Step 3: Become an observer of your emotions.

Without trying to change anything, simply observe and notice how the emotion actually feels in your body. No need to go into the story attached to the emotion, simply observe it as a kind of energy you are experiencing. Where is it located? Is it heavy or light? Is it hot or cold? Does it have a shape or a color? Is the energy slow, fast, tiny or big? Is there an image? What other qualities do you notice?

Example: I'm sad and that feels like a tightening and upward pressure in my throat, a sinking blue feeling in my chest. I notice a warmth in the inner corner of my eyes as they are filling with tears. The tears feel warm on my face and the muscles of my face are contracted. As my tears fall I notice the feeling in my throat is softer. I feel ashamed that I am crying and that shame feels like a hot energy rising into my head and a lot of tension in my shoulders. The tension in my shoulders is cold and almost feels like my upper back and shoulders are forming a turtle shell.

Step 4: Release your emotions.

Often we experience emotions as a kind of pressure, usually in the chest or belly, sometimes in the head. Close your eyes and imagine that you have a pressure valve that you can operate in order to let some of the pressure escape. It can be a dial or a hollow tube or pipe. Whatever it is, imagine you are releasing the emotional pressure safely through the valve or pipe. Notice that we are not "processing" or trying to change the emotion, simply releasing the pressure. Repeat this imagery until the pressure is more comfortable or totally released. This will only take a few minutes and gets easier with practice.

Step 5: Let your emotions guide you to a better solution than food.

Close your eyes, take several deep cleansing breaths and ask yourself, "Instead of eating, what are some better ways to deal with this emotion?"

Examples: When I feel lonely, I can call a friend. When I feel sad, I can cry or write in my journal. When I feel frustrated, I can take a long walk. When I feel angry I can go to the gym and work out, or hit some pillows with a plastic baseball bat. (Try it, it works!)

Step 6: Create a strategy to deal with whatever is causing the emotions.

Ask yourself,

"Will eating food help resolve this situation?"

"Is there a new way to think about this so I feel better?"

"Are there any actions I can take to actually make it better?"

In the rare instance you feel there are absolutely no actions you can imagine taking to make a situation better, you can always take the simple yet powerful action of surrendering the problem to your Higher Power, whatever that is for you. There is great power in the wisdom to "Let go and let God." You might also seek support from a 12-step program, professional counseling or clergy. However in most cases you will find there are many things you can do to actually help resolve the situation. In fact this is the message those unwanted emotions have been trying to deliver all along.

So start acknowledging and learning from your emotions. Instead of eating, find out what's eating you and get moving! Write down two action steps you can take and also a deadline. It's fine to start with baby steps. Even the smallest action will help you begin to exercise healthy control of your emotional eating.
