Do Calorie Shifting Diets Result In Weight Loss?

The calorie shifting method of dieting is currently enjoying a massive increase in users. A staggeringly high amount of great feedback given by those that have used the method seems to be behind this. No diet works for everyone, but does this one have a better chance than any other or is it just another fad.

The way the diet differs from most diets that exist is that it focuses on shifting calories rather that drastically lowering your calorie intake. This basically means that the type of foods you eat changes on a daily basis.

The reason it works is because by shifting the foods you eat your body fails to recognize that you are on a diet. This keeps your metabolism working at a good rate. Other diets fail for the good reason that they fail to stop your body from sensing you are on a diet, which in turn slows down your metabolism and starts to store your fat instead of burning it.

The calorie shifting diet also has benefits apart from its shifting calories technique. The fact that you eat 4 meals a day definitely helps to prevent snacking and breaking your diet. You also never feel uncontrollable cravings for anything as you know that after every 11 days you get 3 full days to eat what you please.

Anyone that is looking for a weight loss program they may not have previously considered then I would highly recommend giving a calorie shifting diet a try. Results don't lie and you can find great feed back on any weight loss forum so why not give it a try the next time you are considering a weight loss program.

If you have tried other diets and failed then why not try a Calorie Shifting Diet. To find out more about shifting calories and the diets using the method click here.

Two Weight Loss "Secrets" Most People Don't Want to Hear

Millions of magazines are sold each month, simply because of a few words on the cover. The words "Weight Loss Secrets", or something along those lines, compel people to add the magazine to their grocery cart, in hopes that what they have been looking for will be found inside: A way to lose weight and keep it off without effort.

While I have worked with quite a few men and women wanting to lose weight over the last 10 years, those who have lost weight and kept it off, have done something that those who have not didn't. But before I tell you what that is, let's compare someone who wants to lose weight, and someone who is my client because they have been panicking, or what those who have not yet worked with me would call "Panic Attacks."

The person who has been panicking experiences pain and discomfort when they are panicking, and relief when they aren't. They do not need to discover a compelling reason to become "panic free"; their panicking is enough discomfort that it is reason enough by itself. This person will take the suggestions that I offer and the exercises that I give them, and they will follow them to the letter. Much like an animal with its foot caught in a trap, they will do ANYTHING to get free. For this reason, I have never had a client in 10 years that was not able to resolve their panicking or anxiousness.

Now, let's contrast this with the client that wants to lose weight. They are dissatisfied with the way they look or feel, but not necessarily with the process or behaviors that are responsible. Namely, they do not dislike eating or sitting on their "can" instead of exercising. For most people, the relief they experience comes from NOT doing the behaviors that will help. When they choose to watch T.V. instead of going to the gym, or to eat three slices of cake instead of one, they feel a welcome comfort...for a little while.

It's not long before guilt, frustration, anger, or something along those lines kicks in, and back and forth they go. It would appear that they are stuck between a rock and a hard place- but closer examination reveals something radically different.

Have you ever known someone who had ignored their health for 30, 40, or 50 years-eating what they want, never exercising, and choosing not to get an annual physical? My guess is that you've also known someone like I've just described, who had a near fatal heart attack, and upon getting back on their feet, completely changed their behaviors. They exercise everyday, eat only healthy foods, and visit their doctor regularly. What happened?

Pain is the king of motivators. It's been said that everyone has their breaking point, and that breaking point comes when we have hit our pain threshold. Once they have come close to checking out of this earthly existence, and have reflected on the pain that others would have felt, or have experienced the fear of dying, doing the things they need to do become easy.

You can't imagine the number of people who have told me "Oh, I already know about the consequences- but I still can't seem to get motivated." They may "know" the consequences- but they haven't felt them. Studies using sophisticated eye scanning devices have shown that when overweight men and women are reading an article that talks about the tragic events that can result from remaining overweight, that their eyes skip across that section, and begin reading again where there's not as much pain.

Here's the secret to weight loss: Exercise 5-6 times a week, at least 30 minutes a day, and with enough intensity to break a sweat, eat healthier foods, consuming a fewer calories each day. And, here's the secret to making that happen: Dip your heart, mind, body and soul into the pain you will experience if you don't. I don't mean read about it, I mean close your eyes, and vividly imagine your loved one's sobbing uncontrollably at your funeral, or at the side of your hospital bed as you watch from that bed attentively, but unable to move or speak because of the ravages of a stroke. When you can envision these things until YOU are crying, sobbing, or deeply feeling pain, you will have taken the first step in getting enough leverage to change your life for the long haul.

The movie the "Secret" is a great movie. It's hard to watch it without getting a good warm feeling and a sense of inner peace. However, the idea of the "Law of Attraction" has, in some cases, created more confusion and turmoil than anything else. If you are 70 lbs overweight, have high blood pressure, and Type II Diabetes, feeling warm and having a sense of inner peace is going to take you to an early grave. If your goal is simply to feel happy, and you're not particularly concerned about how long you live, or what the quality of those years will be like, then that strategy works. If you DO want to live a longer and healthier life, however, it's not likely that thinking about being thinner and feeling good about it is going to attract anything other than denial about your current situation.

Sadly, the "Secret" has spurred many people into thinking that "negative" or painful thoughts are forbidden and to be pushed away like the plague. To do so, though, is to leave behind the most powerful motivator on earth- PAIN.

My friend Kevin Hogan devised what I consider to be one of the most valuable visualization methods for using pain constructively that I've ever seen. When I say "devised" I mean he's brought it into the public's awareness. It was based on some very recent research on visualization and motivation. It involves split screen imaging.

Imagine for a moment that in front of you is a large 60 inch High Definition Television. Imagine a line splitting the screen down the middle; on the left side is an image of how you look now, and examples of all of the "bad" or painful things you can expect if you stay this way, and on the right side is an image of you looking how you will at your desired healthy weight. With that image, be sure to place all of the benefits of looking and feeling like that "you." The key is to observe them both at the same time.

Why does this work so powerfully? Two words: Cognitive dissonance. Your brain and nervous system "freaks" when two contrasting images or thoughts are held simultaneously. It is simply too uncomfortable, and therefore, your unconscious has one primary goal at this point; it is focused on resolving the pain. If the image on your left side is painful enough, your brain will do whatever it has to do to bring your reality into alignment with the healthy image on the right side. What will have to happen? You guessed it...exercise and changing eating habits.

In summary, pain is not a "negative" or "positive" thing. It is simply a tool that is appropriate at times, and not so appropriate at others. Harness the power of pain, combine it with the power of pleasure, and find yourself doing the things you always wanted to be able to do.

Fat Loss 4 Idiots Ratings

When it comes to rate anything, diet or other, it's something which is always more personal than objective. After all, a diet can work perfectly well for me, but fail miserably for someone else. That's why I believe that the only way to get a true fat loss 4 idiots rating is to see more than one view of it.

Over the past 8 months, I have spoken with hundreds of users of fat loss 4 idiots and heard their ratings. I've spoken with men and women of a wide range of ages, weights, and habits, and I can honestly say that I have a pretty complete view of Fatloss4idiots.

However, you should know, that each person has slightly different results with this diet, so the Fatloss4idiots ratings you may come across will differ from one another. Some lose 9 pounds in 11 days with this diet, while others settle for a mere 5. Some find it easy as pie to do while others do experience some difficulty with it, though the vast majority of people agree that it's very easy to stick to.

The main thing is that people manage to lose weight with this diet. On average I'd say that people lose 6-7 pounds per 11 days cycle. I don't know how much you'd lose, since it's impossible to predict, but I can say that as long as you see your weight diminish, that's the main thing, and you should be satisfied.

Be aware that fat loss 4 idiots ratings come from all sorts of people. You should try to find people who are similar to you in age and weight to get a better picture of how you'd do.

Weight Loss And Diets - Is It More Difficult To Lose Weight During The Holidays?

Is it really more difficult to lose weight during the holidays? This depends on many things, including how much weight you need to lose and what your eating habits are. Here are some things to look at to see what might be affecting your ability to stay on a weight loss diet.

  • Take a look at your social habits. If your lifestyle includes eating out many times each week or attending other types of social or community events, eating a healthy, low calorie diet may be extremely difficult for you. If this is the case, think about how you can best handle it to match your goals for losing weight. Perhaps eating something healthy before you leave your house, such as an apple or some whole grain crackers, will keep you from eating so much when you are out at a restaurant or other social venue.
  • Keep a journal of what you eat over a three day period. See if you eat more at a specific time of day or during certain times of the year. Holiday times, whether they be during Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year's or during the summer - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day, may be times when you are more likely to overeat. Be sure to record your consumption of alcohol, as that can figure into the weight loss equation.

The most important thing is to be aware of what you eat and when you tend to eat more. You may want to find out more about weight loss programs that help you to lose weight quickly.

And now I invite you to learn more about losing weight quickly and keeping it off if you need to lose more than 30 pounds by visiting http://www.FivePoundsAtATime.com to find out about the master cleanse weight loss diet.

Having a Hard Time Building Muscle & Losing Weight - Metabolic Damage And Enzyme Deficiency

In a recent discussion with an elite field of training experts many of the well-known authors, trainers and scientists had noticed a growing trend in the general population about the inability to lose body fat. Most of the experts first witnessed an increase in the number of guys and girls in high performance sport particularly bodybuilding that was not responding to traditional dieting and training protocols.

It seems no matter what these individuals did their bodies refused to drop the extra body fat. I had noticed a similar trend in some of clients who had been exposed to high levels of toxic substances, females who had given birth, and in individuals who consumed high levels of processed food.

To date it does seem that in large part the medical profession is blind to the seriousness and scope of Metabolic Damage, its causes and effects, there are always those few individuals who are able by experience, specialized knowledge, and integrated application of sound nutritional and training practices who can provide solutions.

I too came about the same observations of metabolic damage although from a slightly different route. I would also like to add that this topic is a vast and sometimes technical topic, and by no means can I illustrate everything you need to know about enzymes, metabolic damage, weakness, or deficiency.

For a detailed account of how enzymes work, why we need them, and why its so hard to obtain them in modern society I strongly advise reading Dr. Howells book: Enzyme Nutrition.

Dr. Howell was the leading pioneer in enzymes for almost 70 years before his death around the age of 100. His work lives on through the researchers that work for the company he founded. I will talk more about that in a future post. History often leaves clues I will first explain how I came about the discovery of enzyme therapy.

A Growing Trend

I have been in around the health and fitness community for about 20 years, but in the last few years I have noticed distinct trends in clients who were coming to see me. The first group I observed was high performance athletes who recently completed a major competition or long season of training.

These athletes for the most part had been training for most of their lives and then suddenly experienced a significant drop in performance, motivation, and experienced more injuries, body fat increases, and reduced speed, and endurance.

The second group I have encountered were women who had recently given birth. These women, many who were tremendous athletes prior to becoming pregnant suddenly began showing extreme fatigue, large gains in body fat, coupled with digestive disorders after giving birth.

The third group were individuals both men and women who had followed extreme nutrient and calorie deficient diets, particularly followers of the Dr. Bernstein diets, as well as people who had come off the Atkins diet, individuals with a history of eating disorders, and individuals who had experience challenges with brain chemistry.

All of these individuals had gained tremendous amounts of weight in short periods of time and had become to resistant to proven regimens of weight loss. Now most of these clients were not high performance athletes yet they all showed similar symptoms; constipation, low energy, depressed immune function, emotional discord, sluggish metabolisms and digestive disorders.

Many of these individuals had been following exercise and diet programs for years but suddenly there bodies just stopped responding.

The most startling group in my range of investigations was a group of extremely fit women, who after pregnancy experienced a host of metabolic disorders resulting in numerous complications.

Having experienced the rigors of extensive contest dieting myself, and the accompanying symptoms, I have continually sought out ways or solutions to improve my own performance.

Since my own experiences, although not as severe, were similar to what my clients were experiencing I sought to find a way to overcome these challenges and provide a solution to the conditions leading to metabolic damage.

The Mystery Cause of Fatigue And The Low Calorie Diet

I have never bought into the belief that just because someone is on a low calorie diet they should feel fatigued, tired, listless and all the side effects reported by individuals currently undergoing such regimens. Like many others in my field, I felt there was some other factor involved that was not being accounted for, but this factor remained a mystery to me for over 10 years.

I retired from competing to devote more time to pursue this avenue as it had become so widespread in the individuals that were coming to see me from all different age groups, sexes, and backgrounds. I started investigating digestive functioning, metabolism, as well as patterns of food production throughout history.

After pouring over research, speaking with experts in the nutrition field, and the reviewing the latest medical journals on diet: nutrition, and metabolism, I was lead to one key individual. His name was Dr. Michael OBrien.

Medical Genius Rebuilds Dying Nutrition Expert In 8 Weeks

Now Dr. OBrien is more than a remarkable individual. Accolades, testimonials, or descriptions, would not begin to quantify or qualify the man or the wisdom he possesses. First off he was the former director of two medical clinics in California, he is also a master nutrition formulator for over 50 years.

Whats more remarkable is that he successfully treated himself of cirrhosis of the liver, as well as terminal colon cancer using enzymes, probiotics, and a patented amino acid formulation he designed.

Dr. OBrien also was the man behind literally thousands of recoveries from terminal diseases including: cancer, heart disease, lupus, AIDS and virtually every other terminal illness in existence. He was also the doctor who was responsible for orchestrating the complete and astounding recovery of legendary health expert Dr. Bernhard Jensen (See Chapter 13 Come Alive by Bernhard Jensen).

I had the good fortune of attending two professional lectures held by Dr. OBrien. Its hard to describe the sheer impact that seeing Dr. OBrien in person has on someone. First off although he is close to 90 years old he has almost no wrinkles in his skin. His countenance radiates light, his eyes sparkle, his actions are quick and fluid and his mind is extremely sharp.

In fact I have never been in the presence of ANYONE who radiated so much life, wisdom and compassion. In other words he practices what he preaches, which in todays world of false gurus is a rare occurrence.

Dr. OBrien illustrates that his lifetime work, like aforementioned Dr. Howell, has concluded that all diseases are actually Symptoms of Deficiency. In the course of his lectures, he provides a wealth of support to back up his claim. He also has proven that when an individual treats the deficiency the symptoms stop and the disease is cured. It is also Dr. OBriens belief that there are No Incurable diseases, just incurable people.

Now I know you might be asking, What does this have to do with Metabolic Damage?

Metabolic Damage, Obesity, And Enzyme Deficiency

In fact I asked Dr. OBrien this very question myself. He quickly stated and presented a wealth of information both research and anecdotal that the primary cause of deficiency is a lack of Enzymes present in our food supply. While this is not the only factor it is most definitely the prime factor and perhaps the easiest to correct.

Dr. OBrien stated that he had first come to this discovery after reading a book by Dr. Howell on Enzymes when he himself was on his deathbed. He then applied a series of aggressive enzyme treatments to himself over the period of 16 months and cured himself of terminal liver disease. Dr. Howell explains the reasons and causes of Enzyme deficiency in his book Enzyme Nutrition but I will try to summarize.

Enzyme deficiency over time puts tremendous strain in the human digestive system as the body must use Metabolic Enzymes to digest Enzyme Deficient food. This drain on metabolic and systemic enzymes over time, leads to most of the symptoms of disease as well as the primary cause of the effects of what we call Aging.

How Food Supple Became Enzyme Deficient

Since World War II there has been an extensive use of chemicals, pesticides and fertilizers used in the growing of our food supply, coupled by a leaching out of minerals in the soil. In all of these cases, the plants grown give up their enzymes in order to accommodate the compromised growing conditions. The result is that the enzyme content of our food is extremely diminished from that of food production a hundred years ago (For example: In 1900 wheat was 90 percent protein, today its just 9 percent, similar reports are available in nutrient depletion in the Medicine Today Journal, April, 2002).

The use of pharmaceuticals on livestock also contributes to enzyme damage in the animals human consume. Other factors that contribute to enzyme destruction include food cooked at temperatures above 118 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat destroys any enzymes present in the food you consume.

Irradiation of vegetables and fruits, modern food processing, depleted soil, and the widespread use of chemicals, drugs, and preservatives all contribute to an absence of food enzymes in our diets. These combined factors contribute to considerably higher demands on the metabolic systems of humans. In other words there is a host of factors that are contributing to the problem not a singular cause as most of us are conditioned to believe.

Your Body Produces Enzymes But Is It Enough?

Now every doctor will tell you that the body produces its own enzymes in sufficient amounts to digest your food. What the doctor will not tell you, as he most likely is not aware, is the fact that no species on earth was designed to exist on enzyme deficient diets.

Dr. Howells research demonstrates clearly that in every single species he tested that was fed an enzyme deficient diet, developed metabolic disorders such as extreme weight gain, Type II diabetes and a host of other conditions including pre-mature death (see studies in Dr. Howells Food Enzymes and Longevity).

Numerous other researchers in the field duplicated these studies and are cited in Howells books. Whats worse is that these enzyme deficiencies were passed on to subsequent generations.

In all cases, species fed enzyme deficient diets for a period of three generations developed extensive genetic disorders, such as inability to reproduce, extensive and unusual behavioral disorders, development and acceleration of various diseases, as well as severe metabolic dysfunction (see the classical study done by F.M. Pottengers over 10 years on 900 cats).

Again I am summarizing a considerable amount of information and I strongly advise reading Howells books to get the Full Picture.

Enzyme Deficiency And The Diabetes Connection

Research has also shown that the Pancreas of humans has shown to be three times the normal size in bodyweight comparisons between species. Interestingly this exact pathology was demonstrated in Dr. Howells experiments on animals fed enzyme deficient diets.

In all cases, Type II diabetes, excessive weight gain, as well as other metabolic and genetic disorders became prominent in the Enzyme deficient populations compared to the control group, even when the animals were fed exactly the same amount of calories. Whats interesting is the result coincides with observations I, and my colleagues have made in relation to our clients.

It became apparent to me that the Enzyme deficiency in the food supply had become so common and widespread for so long it isnt even considered a factor by the medical community. Keep in mind that FDA testing and grading of food does not include testing for the presence of enzymes. So there is no pressure for farmers to produce high nutrient content food.

The classification of food is primarily determined by the look of the food, and the weight of food. Another factor contributing to the Enzyme oversight is the fact most doctors have only a few credit hours of basic nutrition and are not really qualified to make nutritional assessments of their patients. The medical field is primarily concerned with the treatment of disease not disease prevention. Big Difference so pointing fingers does little good.

Dont Blame The Doctors!

Doctors have a tough enough job as it is and discovering the cause of Metabolic Damage in general is not high on their priority list considering the current challenges facing most medical practitioners today.

While there seems to be a correlation in food enzyme deficiency and metabolic damage or the conditions leading to the onset of disease, I needed more information to support the case. This is where Dr. OBriens experience and expertise completely obliterated any rational objections one might have against the Food Enzyme Concept as presented by Dr. Howell.

Dr. OBrien developed a regimen, which included enzyme therapy to control, reverse and eliminate virtually every major disease known to mankind. The regimen was relatively static and only varied in the dosage the individual could take based on the current state of his patient, the economics of the individual, and the speed at which the person desired their conditions to cease.

Deeper Down The Enzyme Rabbit Hole

I personally subjected myself, and a group of 12 individuals of different ages, backgrounds, sexes and conditions to Dr. OBriens regimen. All 12 of the subjects experienced radical improvements in metabolism, body fat reduction, improved muscle building, recovery, digestive, and eliminative functioning. We all experienced positive changes in dietary selection, emotional well being as well as improved cognitive function.

OBrien states that in most cases 4-6 months of aggressive enzyme therapy was enough to eliminate the symptoms of deficiency and cure almost any symptoms of metabolic dysfunction. In some patients he stated 1 year to 18 months was required to completely eradicate serious states of metabolic dysfunction, such as those conditions present in advanced conditions of AIDS, Lupus etc.

Now Dr. OBriens interest was primarily in the treatment and prevention of disease as well as the field of longevity but I knew that his discoveries could be applied to the area of athletic performance including more mainstream goals such as weight loss.

I speculated that if athletes and ordinary people began supplementing their diets with digestive enzymes it would improve performance by reducing the drain of metabolic enzymes to digest food thereby correcting metabolic damage in the population at large.

Treatment dosages were the primary limiting factor in how fast one recovered from any condition or how fast their performance improved in a given athletic endeavor. Unlike traditional therapy with drugs, enzyme dosages were not limited as side effects such as the breaking of the GI barrier did not occur in patients on dosages as high as 1000 capsules a day (this is Extreme to say the least).

Finding The Right Formula

Since Dr. OBriens company was not able to provide me with his Enzyme formulation as he could not provide enough enzymes to meet his current demand I immediately set about formulating an Enzyme Product geared particularly for athletes. In other words, people who followed dietary and training practices such as bodybuilders, fitness competitors, and every one else involved in cosmetic training.

What I learned will come as no surprise to anyone else on the inside of the supplement industry is that most products sold commercially on the market were of little to no value. The extreme costs of developing and stabilizing enzymes that would work in the broad PH range experienced throughout the gastro-intestinal tract is considerable.

The sheer economics of the situation had reduced most supplement companies to produce cheap enzymes that do not work in order to make viable profit margins. These enzymes are often animal based, or come enterically coated, and can be bought for a fraction of the cost of effective enzymes. This is one reason why enzyme therapy has traditionally been reserved for pharmaceutical companies or for individuals with extensive resources to afford private treatment.

Undaunted by the costs of development I engaged the expert formulators at Dr. Howells company to produce an enzyme product designed for the dietary and training demands of myself, my personal clients, and athletes in general.

After several months we came up with a new product that included a proprietary blend of Enzymes, precursors and stabilizers specifically designed and formulated for athletes interested in increasing muscle mass and decreasing body fat.

Tried, Tested And True

We then spent 6 months testing it out on a small group of bodybuilders age ranges of 15 to 72. The results have been encouraging to say the least.

Recently, I met with other industry professionals and discussed my findings and positive experiences with Enzyme Therapy as well as the potential solution to individuals suffering from metabolic damage. To say the least many of my peers are overjoyed and excited about what could be the greatest nutritional breakthrough of the last century.

I will also be making a small amount of my product available to individuals on my website who wish to undergo a regimen of Enzyme Therapy. This protocol is rather intense and expensive but its results are quite impressive. Our team is confident that the protocol we have developed can improve and alleviate the symptoms of metabolic damage and/or to improve individual athletic performance and health.

I look forward to sharing my experiences and information with you as well as answering your questions on this fascinating and exciting field.

Counting Calories To Lose Weight Sensibly

Scientifically, every pound of body fat represents approximately 3500 calories. Based on this, to lose 1 pound per week you will need to reduce your calorie intake by 3500 calories per week. So, for each pound you want to lose every week, you need to subtract 500 calories per day, from your current consumption level.

Generally, less than 1200 calories daily are not recommended and weight loss of more than 2 pounds per week is also not recommended.

On diet alone, you can see how it won't be possible to lose a pound a day unless of course you already have a considerable calorie intake and the reduction will still leave you with sufficient food and nutrition to remain healthy.

For a more balanced approach to a 1 pound per week weight loss, increase your activity. Decrease your calorie intake by 250 calories per day and exercising to expend the other 250 calories. This approach prevents a decrease in your metabolic rate and promotes increased lean muscle mass, which in turn is the most effective fat consumer. Yes, muscle eats fat, by default.

For a loss of two pounds per week, do the math: 1000 calories per week less, preferably by consuming 500 calories less on a daily basis, and burning 500 by a vigorous exercise routine.

But, sensibly, you only need to reduce your calorie intake by 100 calories per day to make a substantial effect on your weight over the period of the year. By reducing your calories by only 100 calories per day over the course of the year you would have consumed 36,500 less calories and that converts to a weight reduction of almost 10.5 pounds.

That is an easily accomplished weight reduction with very little change to your lifestyle and habits.

Tips to Successful Weight Loss

People hate dieting because it deprives them of their favorite foods (read fatty and junk foods). When you start dieting, you will inevitably have tough times during the first few days when you reel under the pressure of hunger. Just think about it - you used to eat every now and then and now that you are dieting, you got to restrict your food intake. Obviously your body is quite surprised at the change of food habits but hey, there are ways you can make sure you can diet for a long time without troubling your body! In this article I will give you five tips to lose weight effectively!

1. Remove Sugary Foods from your kitchen. Do a search in your kitchen as well as the refrigerator and make sure there is no food left there that has high sugar content. Sugar or sucrose easily converts into carbohydrates once it enters into body. And as a matter of fact, unused carbohydrates are easily turned into fat by the body. You therefore, as a rule, should avoid sugar and sugar-rich foods.

2.Stop eating processed foods. Not only some of them are high on calorie count, processed foods also contain a lot of natural and unnatural preservatives. While natural preservatives won't harm your body much, unnatural preservatives can cause acidity, stomach disorder and loss of energy!

3. Start walking. Get off that couch and take a walk. Exercise is a vital component of weight loss, but if you cannot or won't want to exercise, simply walking will help you burn calories. Brisk walking is good, but jogging or running will rid you of even more fat! Make sure you increase your daily activity level regularly. If you continuously remain seated on your couch, you won't be able to burn fat!

4. Most people forget the simple advice that water is good for everyone, more so for those who are overweight. Make sure you drink lots of water everyday; it will keep your stomach full and keep you away from food cravings. Make sure you also drink a glass of water before meal so that you don't end up overeating!

5. Dairy products contain a lot of fat, so you should cut down on their intake. Dairy products such as yogurt (unless it is of the low-fat variety), cheese, cottage etc, can cause stomach bloating and inflammation. Dairy products are also rumored to be the leading cause behind heart diseases.

As you can see, losing weight is not all that hard. Take your time to plan your diet, and then stick to it. That is the best way to lose weight fast!

The Simple Truth Behind How To Successfully Lose Weight

Now I hate to do this but you need to hear the truth, there will be no more messing about as the time has come for you to lose weight. Yes I know you have tried before but that did not work did it? All of those half hearted efforts are in the past, now we are going to lose weight the successful, there will be no stones left unturned, we will achieve our goals. It may not be pretty but it will ultimately prove to be successful.

How many times have you attempted to lose weight simply by eating less food? This would be a superb plan if only you could keep to it. I have attempted to lose weight in this way a number of times. I start really well, can even go two weeks hardly eating anything but then it all goes down hill. Let's face it this form of weight loss plan does not work.

Let us now cut to the chase, what is required is exercise. Why? This is how the concept works had has worked for me. About a year ago I decided to give it a real go, I was going to definitely lose weight this time. The plan was to cut down on my food consumption but to also exercise. Every day I did one hundred sit ups, one hundred press ups, spent half an hour on the exercise bike and did some weights (dumb bells). This is hard graft and takes a real effort and determination to keep it up each and every day.

After doing all of that exercise there was absolutely no way I was then going to start eating fatty types of food. What I am trying to say is that the exercise gave me the will power to cut down on what I was eating.

Progress it has to be said was slow, but progress there was. After around three months of exercising in this way, I was looking and feeling superb. I have to admit that I did miss the odd day of exercising, but boy did I feel guilty for it.

In conclusion the hard truth of the matter is, if you want to lose weight, you will need to exercise.

Lose Weight Fast - Once and For All

Many people had asked me over the years how to lose weight fast and I answered each and everyone of them the same thing, with hard work, results will not come just by sitting at home all day, losing weight is as every other project hard at the beginning, but don't let that stop you, there are many things ordinary people can overcome with determination, willpower and hard work.

It's only too often that people quit their plans before they even get a good grip on them and especially since we need around three weeks to get used to new habits and other changes in our lives. There are also other things you can benefit apart from looking good. People will judge you by your appearance, whether is it a good or a bad one.

Obviously good looking people have advantages over certain things in our lives, they have more options to build their future on and other advantages in society. Only thing keeping you from becoming that good looking person is a few months of hard work and devotion. If you can get that tip and follow it, everything else will be as easy as a walk in the park.

And you can learn a great lesson from this, try to keep your goals where you can reach them and try to focus on visualizing them, if you won't forget why you are doing this you will not lose motivation. I don't get it why some people stay unhappy with their bodies through their whole lives and regret not going to gym day after day.

It will only take you a minute of your time per day to get your engine working. I know that nowadays life revolves so fast and leaves us with almost no spare time, but if you want something strong enough, you can make time and that is all that I need you to do, take that hour from your daily routines and change your body, you have to do it once.

Why not start now? Obviously best ways of losing weight are good diets and daily cardio exercises such as running or jogging. Since following a good diet might prove quite a challenge try to keep following them for at least a month since this is the time it usually takes for us to start noticing changes.

So only thing you need to do is start and keep on going for at least a month, take an hour of your time and convert it into some quality cardio training.

This is not all I have prepared for you, read more useful tips on CLICK HERE.

Diet Vs Exercise For Weight Loss

We're big proponents of exercise for a myriad of health reasons. But when it comes strictly to losing weight, what you eat is far more important than how many miles you log on the road. Just think: It takes about 6 miles or 90 minutes of brisk walking for a 150-pound person to burn 500 calories. Compare that to a seemingly harmless few handfuls (about a cup) of granola--also 500 calories. Yikes! You can see how easy it is to eat back all that hard work (and then some).

Don't throw in the exercise towel just yet!

Although subscribing to a healthy eating plan that emphasizes fruit and veggies, whole grains, and lean meat and dairy will help you needle down the scale faster than even our toughest outdoor fitness workout, studies show exercise is absolutely critical for another important reason: maintaining that weight loss and preventing weight regain. So at some point, you're gonna have to do both, and the sooner you do the better. After all, you don't just melt away the fat when you drop pounds with diet-only programs; you lose quite a bit of muscle weight, too. If you eat less and exercise, particularly if you strength train, you'll be more likely to retain muscle and lose mostly fat weight so you'll look leaner.

Bottom line: Healthy eating and regular exercise are lifelong habits necessary for weight management. Get on board and start reaping the rewards now. It's as easy as 1-2-3:

  1. Primarily focus on eating well.
  2. Exercise to keep off the weight.
  3. Subscribe to a lifetime of doing both.

Would Smoking and Drinking Affect My Gym Training?

Dear dailymuscle,

I'm 21 years old and trying to quit doing the unhealthy things I do to my body and here's my problem. I started smoking and drinking a couple of months ago (vodka), and last night was one of the nights I went overboard and drank way too much. I hate the terrible, worthless feeling I get the next day as I don't feel like training at the gym today due to this feeling. I just feel like staying in bed all day..

I know this is a stupid question but would smoking and drinking affect my gym training (I know it affects cardio cause it screws up your lungs)?

~the thirsty trainer

Dear thirsty trainer,

Thanks for writing in.

Drinking and smoking while trying to achieve practically any fitness goal are the exact opposites and dont mix. Drinking can compromise your goals especially if fatloss is one of them. I've read that the liver can take days to get rid of the alcohol in ones body and so one of its main jobs of filtering fat comes to a standstill and it packs it away for processing later (which never comes of course).

Still not convinced? Okay try this - have a can of beer (or any other alcoholic beverage) just before your workout and let me know if you have a productive workout.

It's a matter of priorities, especially at your young age of which path you want to choose. Many people think that they can counteract their smoking and drinking habits by doing enough exercise, not realising that they are only fooling themselves of the harm they are doing to themselves.

There is research out there that says alcohol in moderation has benefits, but I would not recommend anyone that doesn't drink to start solely for these benefits. Hey, Schwarzenegger smokes cigars too, however, I believe that they are the exceptions. I'd rather stay away from it if I were you.

You know what the right decision is - otherwise you wouldnt be asking about it here ;)

Good luck!

7 Diet Secrets for Great Abs or Just Lose Weight

I have always heard that "abdominals are made in the kitchen, not in the gym," and there's a lot of truth to that. You can do as many reps of sit ups you want, but you can forget about set of 6-pack abs, or even looking like you are in shape, if you do not watch the food you eat.

  1. Drink plenty of water - you need to get 8 to 12 eight ounce glasses of water (plain water).
  2. Avoid white sugar and flour. They are highly refined and go into your blood stream quickly. This will cause your blood sugar to spike and fall, which will increase your cravings.
  3. Find your calorie maintenance level and stay 15 to 20 percent below that. If you want to use a more aggressive approach be careful. You do not want to keep the calories low for too long. If you take the aggressive approach you will want to increase calorie intake a couple of days a week to keep your metabolism from shifting into starvation mode.
  4. Eat 5-6 small meals instead of 2-3 big ones. Also spread the calories out over the whole day. Don't starve yourself all day and ping out in the evening. Too much of even good foods will cause the fat to stay on.
  5. Eat high quality lean protein with each meal.
  6. Get the majority of your carbs from a natural plant source.
  7. Keep fats to less than 30 percent of your calories. Remember you want as much of that 30% as possible to be from good oil sources (I.E. flax oil, fish and nuts). Some studies have indicated that these oils may actually help you loose the fat.
You can do crunches and other ab workouts until the cows come home. But if you don't watch what you eat, those strong muscles will always look like fat. That applies to all exercise. It is quiet possible to be fit and look obese. It is also possible to look thin and be fat.

Cycling For Weight Loss

Physical exercising is one of the most effective means of losing weight. While weight loss is subsequent, it is also possible to maintain this reduction through physical exercising. Unlike in the use of various weight loss supplements which may result in consequent weight gain later.

One of the popular forms prevalently used by overweight individuals for losing weight is cycling. Here it can be pointed out that recent statistics have revealed an alarming fact. Researchers have discovered that it is not only a considerable section of the adult population who fall victim to obesity.

Nowadays children and youngsters are equally vulnerable to obesity. Therefore in such cases, cycling is a very good and wise option to be undertaken for losing weight as it is a sporting activity which is quite popular among children. So through cycling, they will be able to enjoy themselves and at the same time it will help enormously in leading to weight loss.

Cycling is a rigorous exercise and it helps immensely in increasing one's stamina and it aids sufficiently in weight loss as it increases the metabolism rate considerably. This is helpful in aiding the loss of excess calories accumulated in the body. It is well known that obesity endangers a person towards contracting various fatal diseases like heart ailments, cancer and diabetes. The exercise is extremely beneficial in such cases as it not only aids in weight loss, it regulates the blood pressure level to normalcy and thus helps in restricting the possibilities of a stroke. It also acts as a shield against coronary heart diseases, cancers and diabetes as well.

It is also possible to enjoy the benefits of cycling by means of indoor cycling which involves the usage of an immobile bike. Indoor cycling is considered to be a wonderful fitness program that can aid immensely in weight loss. Often it is coupled with some other exercises in order to make the workout session even more interesting and make weight loss an enjoyable process. However, it is necessary to bear in mind that if it is not enacted in a proper manner, it is possible for one to attain injuries. Therefore one must acquire the knowledge about how to perform this exercise before trying it for weight loss. Indoor cycling three to four times a week can gradually show results in the form of reduced weight.

Many weight loss diets fail from lack of discipline.

Weight Loss Cost

The real weight loss cost cannot be measured in dollars. The real cost of being over weight or obese is in relationships, quality of life and shortened life span.

Relationship with bosses, friends, opposite sex and even family are affected by our physical appearance. Regardless of what we chose to say or pretend to believe, our relationship options are limited by our physical appearance. We can be down graded to a friend or rejected for the "job", because we do not fit the image of the person doing the choosing.

If you are really overweight, your body must work harder which shortens your life span. The body wears out faster and loses the ability to function. If you work out hard and longer to stay in shape, you face the possible damage to your body which can effect your quality of life. Very few things can effect you quality of life like back pain or knee pain. The answer must be between these two extremes.

Most people are unaware of why they fail at weight loss time after time, but they keep trying which makes the weight loss industry a big business. People's failure at weight loss or maintaining their desired weight is that the time and effort needed to burn off the excess pounds seems beyond our ability to maintain over a longer period. when life gets in the way, our motivation weakens, we skip secessions and the weight returns.

Conventional wisdom is that large amounts of time and effort are required in exercising for weight loss. "NO PAIN-NO GAIN" is the quote. This does work, but it is outdated like comparing a horse and buggy to a automobile. Both will get you to where you want to go, but one does it faster, easier and more comfortable.

We can accept access to the internet on our cell phones and other amazing technology, but refused to believe that we have developed a machine, which can in ten minutes a day with no sweat, cause one to lose weight and even maintain that weight loss in 10 minutes daily for the rest of your life.

The ten minutes weight loss machine.

How To Calculate Weight Loss Percentage

Losing weight can sometimes be a very difficult task, requiring a large amount of energy and a lot of motivation. Knowing how to calculate weight loss percentage can really be a morale booster for your rough times because your actual results can only encourage you to perform more of the taken actions - like jogging, dieting or others.

It can also help you stay on track and not exaggerate with anything, as we do know that anything done in excess can harm your body. It can help you set goals and achieve them step by step.

But how do we calculate weight loss percentage? Is it a difficult math task? No way! It's a pretty basic formula. First of all you'll need to remember your initial weight. Secondly, you'll need your actual weight at this point. Now, the formula goes like this:

((IW-AW)/IW) * 100= weight loss percentage

In this formula IW is your initial weight and AW is your actual weight at this point. It's not as complicated as it initially seems: practically all you do is subtract the actual weight from the initial weight and divide the number obtained by your initial weight. Multiply the result with 100 and you'll get the exact percent.

Now you can see that it's pretty basic - but opening a lot of possibilities. For example, you can measure your weight once a week and create an Excel table which instantly calculates the weight loss percentage for you. This can really help you keep track of your progress and can be a real motivation booster as I previously mentioned.

With this you can also create a weight loss percentage graphic - actually drawing your progress at certain points.

Well, if you fully understood how this works, you can conclude that now you know how to calculate weight loss percentage. If not, try to re-read the article more carefully.

Smartlipo - Fast and Safe Office Based Liposuction Under Local Anesthesia

Smartlipo a machine that can accomplish Fast and Safe Liposuction Under Local Anesthesia. This technology uses laser energy to liquefy fat or destroy fat cells so that they can be suctioned (liposuction). It also tightens surrounding skin tissue. Unlike traditional liposuction which requires general anesthesia and more down time, this procedure is done in the doctor's office or medical spa. This procedure is not for the obese needing large amounts of fat removed and are in frail health.

Here are some of the benefits:

1. Less recovery time than traditional liposuction: Most persons can return to work within 24 - 48 hours.

2. Local vs general anesthesia. General anesthesia obviously comes with greater risks.

3. Done in the doctor's office or medical spa. This affords greater convenience.

4. Body contouring or sculpting for a more youthful appearance.

5. Versatile: procedure can be used on the belly, face, neck, upper arms, knees, back, enlarged male breasts, and thighs.

6. Promotes Skin tightening and improved tone for a more youthful appearance.

7. Less tissue trauma vs traditional liposuction. So, there is less bleeding, swelling, pain and bruising.

8. Less risk than traditional procedure in the hands of a capable user.

9. Approved by the FDA.

10. Ideal candidate is one who has localized fat deposits on body as well as face.

Before undergoing any medical procedure, make sure you discuss all your medical conditions and medication history. These can impact if you are a candidate or how well you tolerate any medical procedure. Again, this procedure is for healthy patients who have localized facial or body fat and not obese patients requiring large amounts of fat removal.

Meridia Prescription Guide

What Is Meridia Used For?

Meridia should be used by people who are overweight and have an inital body mass index of at least 30. It is recommended that Meridia also be used by people with BMI of at least 27 if they are at risk for high cholesterol, diabetes, or high blood pressure. Talk to your doctor to find out your BMI and whether or not it's alright for you to use a Meridia prescription.

How Do I Use It?

Meridia should be taken orally and in the exact way directed by your doctor. This usually involves one dose daily.

It may take 4-6 weeks for results to show. Please do not raise your dose, take Meridia more frequently, or use your prescription for a longer time than prescribed by your doctor; Meridia can be addictive. If you have taken Meridia for a long time, please do not stop taking it suddenly without talking to your doctor first. As with many prescription drugs, Meridia may gradually decrease in effectiveness because your body builds tolerance to it. Talk to your doctor if you gain weight after you start taking your prescription. You make take it either before or after a meal.

Are There Any Meridia Side Effects?

The common side effects of Meridia include dry mouth, sleepiness, difficulty sleeping, and constipation. If any of the effects persist beyond the first week (approximately) or become worse, please tell your doctor as soon as possible. Read more on this warning here.

Please do not give your medication to others. Your Meridia prescription should be taken in combination with a diet plan of reduced calories. In order to monitor the possible side effects, your pulse and blood pressure can be measured and used in laboratory testing.

Is Meridia Safe?

Let your doctor know about your complete medical history. This includes any information regarding allergies (most importantly drug allergies), disease of the liver or kidneys, heart disease, history of stroke or seizures, high blood pressure, eating disorders (ex., anorexia nervosa), glaucoma, or gallstones.

Limit or avoid your intake of alcohol because it could make certain side effects worse. Women who are of the childbearing age should talk to their doctor about using any birth control pills with Meridia. Unless directed otherwise, do not use this drug while you are pregnant. Also, because there is a risk for infants, do not breastfeed while taking Meridia. Patients who are elderly may experienced heightened levels of side effects. Please use with cautious.

How Does Meridia Interact With Other Drugs?

Make sure you tell your doctor about all prescription and nonprescription medications you use; other weight loss medications in particular (such as diethylpropion), and drugs that may raise your blood pressure. Examples of these include decongestants such as pseudoephedrine and phenylpropanolamine.

Tell your doctor if you use any cough suppressants like dextromethorphan; antidepressants such as nefazodone; fluoxetine, sertraline, paroxetine, venlafaxine, and fluvoxamine. Other examples include lithium, MAO inhibitors such as selegiline, moclobemide, furazolidone, phenelzine, tranylcypromine, and other medications such as lithium.

You should also let your doctor know if you use any drugs to treat migraines (ex: dihydroergotamine and sumatriptan), certain pain relievers that are narcotics (ex. pentazocine, fentanyl, meperidine), erythromycin, ketoconazole. Also tell your doctor about any high blood pressure medicines you use, and any other drugs that may cause drowsiness. These include certain types of antihistamines (ex., diphenhydramine), anti-seizure, and sedative medications.

You can find antihistamines and decongestants for cough and cold in many nonprescription drugs. Talk to your pharmacist about this. Also, MAO Inhibitors and Meridia should not be taken together. If you stop the use of your Meridia prescription or an MAO Inhibitor, make sure to wait 2 weeks before you start using the other drug.

What If I Miss My Dose?

In the case that you miss one of your doses, please take it as soon as possible. However, if it is near the scheduled time for your next dose, just skip the dose missed and start back with your prescribed dosing schedule. Do not take twice the normal dose to make up for a missed dose.

How Should I Store Meridia?

Store your prescription at room temperature. This includes temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C). Keep it away from humidity/moisture and light. Make sure to keep all of your medications out of reach of children.

What Else Should I Know?

Do not share any of your prescription with people. Meridia should be used along with a diet plan of reduced calories. Your pulse and blood pressure can be taken/measured along with laboratory tests to monitor side effects.

Corporate Flight Attendant Training Program Review

Corporate flight attendants have a new choice when selecting a company for their cabin safety and service training. Alteon Training, LLC, a Boeing Company, launched a program in November 2003 for corporate flight attendants at their facility in Long Beach, California. I was invited to participate in the class to get a better idea about the training, their facility, and about Alteon itself and to share my findings with the aviation community via this website.

In an industry peppered with training companies of varying sizes and capabilities, my first thoughts about Alteon was that is was just a run-of-the-mill training agency. Alteon not only allayed my original misgivings, but they proved to me that all training companies should be doing the same thing: operating with the FAAs blessings under FAR Part 142. Indeed, Alteons program may soon become the benchmark by which all training companies will be judged. This is good news for flight attendants who are confused or even mislead by some of the programs operating around the U.S.

I arrived in Long Beach from JFK on a Sunday evening, picked up my rental car and went to my room to prepare for my 7 a.m. Monday meeting with Alteon executives Jim Garner and Hal Collison. That morning, we toured the facility where I was able to see their fully equipped training rooms sporting individual computer work stations complemented by the overhead media slideshow housing [indeed, while being trained students could look at the pull down screen or at their computer monitor to view the PowerPoint presentations]. On the ground floor of Alteons facility, I was brought to a room housing individual flight simulators, each of which was for one Boeing product or another.

By 8 a.m. the remaining five students arrived and I settled down with them in a training room to begin the class. After brief introductions, Kathy Cummins was introduced as our service instructor for the first days class. The Corporate School of Etiquette was chosen by Alteon to provide the service side of the training the first day. The middle three days was all Alteon-run training. San Diego CPR was selected to provide the in-flight medical, CPR, and AED training on Friday. When I inquired as to why Alteon outsourced portions of their five-day program, Hal Collison, Director, Flight Training, for Alteon declared, We focus on what we are experts at and do best. The other portions of the course are outsourced to the very best experts in their field with years of experience and access to the latest course content and training materials.

Kathys session began with a discussion on dispatching a trip. Covered material included the steps behind the scheduling and releasing of an aircraft for flight; crewmember assignments; show times and reporting times; aircraft, flight and passenger data; and arranging for catering and supplies. Students previewed a dispatchers checklist and discussed preparing for a six leg international trip using an actual trip sheet to decide what food service was needed and where.

After two hours of classroom teaching, it was all hands on training for most of the rest of the day. Students boarded a company van and headed south to John Wayne Airport in Orange County for the executive service training portion of the program. The class toured Signatures FBO where we located the catering order placed earlier with Air Gourmet. After a discussion about refrigeration, we took the order outside to the waiting Global Express which was graciously provided to us for the day by Monarch Charters. When we boarded the aircraft I was pleasantly surprised to see that we had full access to the galley and cabin whereby we were able to actually heat the food as well as keep the aircraft cool for the passengers.

Kathy gave the students a trip scenario to work with and we went through all the pre-departure procedures including, passenger arrival; take-off; meal and wine service; in-flight procedures; before and after landing; and aircraft cleaning procedures. By mid-afternoon with our in-flight service portion of the training behind us we returned to Long Beach for additional classroom training covering contracts and flight attendant business preparation material. Somehow we managed to squeeze in what seemed like two days of training into one day. By 6 p.m. the class was over and the service training portion of the program was behind us.

Pattie Adams took over the class on Tuesday and for the next three days was tasked with guiding the class through the applicable FARs; crewmember duties and procedures; security; hazmat and more. As a backgrounder, Pattie was one of the chief creators of Alteons new program, drawing on her experience as a contract corporate flight attendant as well as a commercial flight attendant, purser and instructor with United Airlines. Patties experience in the corporate and commercial arenas was helpful as she skillfully translated the language and procedural differences between the two arenas, something that was not lost on those in the class who were new to corporate aviation, but possessed commercial experience only.

Because training was done at Alteons Long Beach facility, guest speakers from within the company were brought in to discuss some of the highly technical aspects of flying. Palermo Gabriel discussed the mechanics of flight and Dick Bloomberg covered the aircraft systems, particularly what happens in the cockpit. Dick also gave the students a thrilling SIM ride, a standard value added feature for those attending this training program.

The third day of training covered turbulence and decompression and was followed by hands on practice of oxygen units and, later, aircraft doors, emergency exits and equipment. Slides and pictures of the various configurations found on the Gulfstreams, Bombardiers/Global Express/ Challengers, and Falcons were covered as well as for the BBJ and Boeings newest corporate entry, the 717 Business Express. Particularly useful to the class was the separate binder that we were given for Emergency Checklists; this Jeppesen size manual could easily be taken on trips, which is what Pattie encouraged students to do.

By Thursday, we were all eager to leave the classroom for hands on activity; we were not disappointed. After a classroom discussion on how fires start, we filed outside, donned personal breathing equipment (PBE) and practiced fire fighting procedures. Immediately after lunch the class boarded the cabin trainer and spent several hours role playing. The day was capped off with a trip to the local hotels outdoor pool for ditching procedures and exercises.

The fifth and final day was the hardest to face. Not that the course material was going to be a major challenge, but rather we were faced with the realization that as a class we would no longer be together. Each of us knew that we were becoming part of Alteon history by participating in their inaugural class.

Pam Hammond, of San Diego CPR, was brought in on Friday to go over the in-flight medical aspect of training, particularly CPR and defibrillator procedures. Having previously completed Red Cross training I was curious to learn what the differences were between Red Cross procedures and the American Heart Association training that Pam was instructing us in. We learned that the Red Cross program, while very good, is geared toward lay people while the American Heart Association program was what the medical community utilized. So, we did as the doctors and paramedics do and started checking airways, looked for signs of breathing, and pounding the chests of the mannequins.

In the afternoon it was all AED training as we practiced hooking up the Heartstream monitor and performing defibrillation. The class ended with a quiz and the distribution of completion cards on behalf of the American Heart Association.

At the end of the day, Alteon executives led by John Alexander, VP of the Americas and Chris Johnson-Pasqua, General Manager, Long Beach Training Center, came to the classroom to thank and congratulate the students. More than once I heard a hearty "thank you from a student to John as each one was grateful for the high level of training they had just completed. Each student left equipped with the confidence needed to carry out their duties as corporate flight attendants.

Weight Loss And Aerobics

There are great benefits to aerobic workouts in your weight loss program. For instance, one of the best things you can accomplish to improve your health and to lose weight is to increase your heart rate. You can achieve this with an aerobic workout which requires constant movement without rest. In order for this to be truly effective, you need sustained movement to get your heart rate up for a length of time. One of the benefits to this is that it oxygenates your blood. This in turn enables you to feel better, stronger and more focused.

Of course this type of workout increases the strength of your heart and your lungs. Aerobic exercise also makes your muscles stronger from working them for increased periods of time. Regardless of which part of the body you are working on, you will continue to get stronger as time goes by. Aerobics alone is not enough. Healthy eating is equally important and compliments your exercise regimen. You should realize that your enthusiasm for weight loss and improved health is complemented by a holistic program that includes both diet and exercise.

The diet most suited for improving your health and losing weight is composed of whole grains, vegetables and fruit. These foods are the ones designed for human consumption. The body has its own incredible ability to cure and regulate itself, but only when provided with the appropriate building materials-natural foods.

One of the most significant aspects of an aerobic program is the way it enables your body to burn fat. Other benefits include increased energy levels, reduced stress, improved mental outlook, increased heart and lung efficiency. A regular aerobics routine will also help reduce blood pressure, improve the heart's resting rate and reduce the risk of stroke or heart attack. Weight loss is, to some degree, created by a calorie deficit. That is, by burning more calories than you consume. By undertaking activities that burn calories, you help your body lose those unwanted pounds.

As an example, half an hour of low paced jogging will burn approximately 300 calories. This makes an important contribution towards your weight loss program.

It is not necessary to join to get an aerobic workout. There are numerous exercises that you can perform in and around your home. There are an ever increasing types of affordable home fitness products. You can use steps, skipping rope and rebounders. NASA considers rebounding to be the most efficient and effective form of exercise. You also might consider the dance mats that can be used with game consoles.

However, the best exercise (when the weather permits) is outdoor exercise. Walking is perhaps the best exercise because it is low impact and available to almost everyone. The secret here is to walk hard and long enough to increase your breathing and your heart rate. Also, running, jogging or riding a bicycle are all great forms of aerobic activity. It is recommended that your exercise regimen consists of 3 to 5 times per week and for between 30 and 60 minutes. The essential point is that your heart and lungs are worked hard enough to enjoy the benefits of aerobic activity (but no so long that you hurt yourself).

Keep in mind that is important to start your program slowly. If you have been inactive for a while, don't try a long run. If a half hour of exercise feels like too much, try starting out with 10 minute sessions. The following week you can try to increase your time to 15 minutes. A lot of us consider exercise to be either difficult or inconvenient. The truth is that working out can be a great deal of fun with wonderful benefits. It is an important habit to develop and one that will provide positive benefits for years to come.
