Lose 15 Pounds Fast

You can lose 15 pounds fast as long as you have an appropriate fast weight loss plan. Before we take a look at fast weight loss plans, let's discuss how fast is "fast"?

It's not unusual for high school wrestlers to lose 5 - 10 pounds during an intense 3-hour workout. But, of course, that weight loss is not sustainable. As adults, many of us have had the idea we can lose 15 pounds fast - in maybe one to two weeks. But, we have discovered that fast weight loss plan is also not sustainable.

Many people have utilized the Body For Life plan to lose weight by following a structured plan for 12 weeks. I actually lost 42 pounds in 12 weeks following that plan, so I know it's possible. But, once again, is the weight loss sustainable?

Of all the weight loss plans, that one seems to be one of the most reasonable approaches. During my first month on that plan I lost approximately 15 pounds. My clothes were looser, I had more energy, and people actually noticed that I had lost weight.

Most of us eat too much of the wrong food over a long period of time. When we finally come to our senses and realize that we need to lose weight, we immediately begin looking for fast weight loss plans, even though we did not gain the weight fast. It makes more sense to look for adjustments to our diet that are sensible.

For example, instead of eating the traditional 3 meals each day, we could provide nourishment to our bodies 6 times each day utilizing smaller portions. A reasonable portion is actually about the size of our clenched fist. So, we might adjust our diet by eating one portion of protein and one portion of carbohydrates six times each day. These 12 portions provide plenty of food to nourish our bodies.

We can also adjust our diets by drinking more water. Water not only hydrates our bodies, it also cleanses our bodies of toxins. Most of us should be drinking 8 - 12 tall glasses of water each day.

An appropriate exercise plan should include a moderate amount of both aerobics and weights every other day.

Aerobics should last 30+ minutes so that your heart rate is elevated and so that your body begins to burn some of your excess fat. Walking is an excellent form of aerobic exercise because it's one activity that even a beginner can do for more than 30 minutes every other day.

Lifting weights ultimately increases muscle mass so that calories are burned more efficiently. In the absence of weights, push-ups and isometric exercises work well. Dumbells provide an excellent solution because they are inexpensive, take up only a small amount of space, and provide an excellent workout with weights.
